As you noted, schools are a lot more woke now. I wouldn't be too surprised if the overall effect was small (most people don't change much in their politics), but a minority actually fully takes on a radical worldview on account of attending college and being exposed to ideas like Critical Social Justice theory. This small minority is then much more politically active and outspoken and clearly is using language they got from their professors so people attribute it to college. But overall, probably some people don't change much.

Some people are exposed to a racially diverse group of people for the first time in their life when they attend college. This group of people is generally above average in intelligence, hard working, friendly, etc. I could imagine someone developing positive attitudes toward other races from attending college rather than it being taught to them.
